Called Home

His work here on earth done, Pastor Dwight Porter was called home by his Lord on 3 April 2010. He and his wife Marian touched the spiritual lives of thousands through a number of different ministries spanning more than five decades of service. Pastor Porter's wish was that the Hour of Grace and Power would continue on, delivering spiritual guidance and encouragement through the monthly "CHALLENGER", as well as through the Gospel Literature ministry to thousands of prisoners throughout the United States. His audio ministry was a spiritual blessing to countless individuals seeking comfort of the Scriptures and a better understanding of God's word.

We will deeply miss Pastor Porter, our brother and friend in the Lord Jesus Christ. His battle is over, but the enemy is still busy at work. Accordingly, we will continue on with the work our brother started; getting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world, and encouraging the saints of God to be faithful and not to be weary in well doing. But we cannot do it alone. The power of the Holy Spirit must be present in all that's done, and you too, are a vital part of this ministry. The Hour of Grace and Power is completely funded by the generous gifts from God's people with a small number of faithful people donating their time and energy in preparation and distribution of the materials offered.  We thank God that all offers on this web site are without cost, obligation, or financial solicitation.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
(From the Bylaws of our corporation)

WE BELIEVE in the Divine authority and verbal inspiration of the Old and New Testaments.

WE BELIEVE that there is one true God, eternally existent in the three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE in the Virgin Birth of Christ and believe His death to be a vicarious atonement, His resurrection to be bodily, His presence in Heaven now to be a guarantee of the believer's access to the Father and His soon return to this earth to be the blessed hope of all believers.

WE BELIEVE in the New Birth through the operation of the Holy Spirit and a filling of the Holy Spirit for spiritual strength and acceptable service.

WE BELIEVE in eternal salvation of all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and endless punishment of all the impenitent wicked.

WE BELIEVE that World Missions is a primary and inescapable duty of every Christian in obedience to Christ's Commission, that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name among all nations.
